3 Days till Christmas...

So now is my turn to talk on this blog thing. As of today we are doing good, we are going strong and being a happy family. Current updates is that I ( Jacob) am working on going out for Marine Special Operations Command. It is going to be hard but i am up for it. Lindsay is going to school and doing very well. And Mason is a little pistol like always. He is our little angel and we love him. He is growing up so fast. It is amazing he is so smart. We are doing good in So Cal. We are getting ready to move in to a different house so that is good, it is stressful not having a moving company do the move but i feel we are ready for it.

All in all I feel that we are in for a very good 2010. We are a strong family and we are going to get stronger; that is why I love our special family.

Just an update

Ooo-kay! So after packing what feels like the 250th box it feels like. I am almost done. As most of you may or may not know we will be moving just before the new year and it has been very chaotic. Mason is excited and loves helping Mommy pack things in the boxes.
We are all very excited for Christmas this year. I am super excited because last year I was unable to be with our family during Christmas and New Years because I was ill and needed to be in the hospital. Feeling much better this year and keeping super hopeful, can't wait to wake up Christmas morning and spend time with our family.
Christmas is always and amazing time of the year! To all of our friends and family have a wonderful and Merry Christmas!!

Fa la la la la, la la la la....

So today is the day after Thanksgiving and it was nice and peaceful. In the morning we all got up and had breakfast. Then stuck to our regular tradition of putting up all the Christmas decorations. So we all got dressed and went to the garage to dig out the Christmas decorations. It ended up being an interesting experience because we started going through the boxes marked Christmas and surprise! They are mislabeled and have nothing close to what they say on the box. I found a pair of heels I had been looking for since our move. We also came across some kitchen items in a box marked 'basement'. Its always an experience when you move your home to somewhere new and use a moving company.
But in the mist of the random things that we found Mason found one of his old Halloween costumes and wore it the entire time we were in the garage. He was so cute and when he found his Elmo doll they both played in the wagon and a few time I heard Mason telling Elmo, "Elmo hustle, we need to go".
After all the searching we had success and found everything we were looking for. So we bought it inside and I began to decorate. Jake always asks me every year why do I want to have two trees I think it's because he doesn't like having to move then around. But every year when I'm done he always says, "I like it, we should do this again".... Gotta love it!
I think that I can fairly say that today was a wonderful and relaxing day and that's what I love about our special family!

Thought it was just a cold...

So the other day I went to the doctor's office because I thought I may have a cold or catching the flu and wanted to try and beat it before it beat me. So while talking with the doctor about my symptoms the nurse knocks and asks to speak with her. She returns to say " we checked your urine and it came back positive". My response was, "positive for what?!'' To my surprise she replied back, "Your Pregnant".
Boy was I taken back. She asked me if I still wanted to talk about my cold and I just told her "never mind, I'm a little taken back right now. Maybe another day".
So in my state of being thrown off, I thought I would call Jake and tell him the news. But figured telling him face to face is better so I could see his reaction. Oh was I in for a suprise. I called him to see what he was doing and said nothing was going on and to stop by. I got there and handed him the pregnancy document the doctor had given me and he looked at, looked at me, read it again, looked at me and read it again. He then spit on the ground (yes he had a dip in) and said, "Congratulations". Congratulations like if I'm his friend and he didn't know what else to say (which I think is what really going on). But yea I think he was just taken back and later expressed his joy.
I think my entire family is a circus of one liners. But whenever we look back it always makes us laugh and it's one thing that makes us our special family...XOXO

So recently we went out to have some family pictures taken and instead of going to the same ole' same ole' studio we went to the park. I am so glad that we went for a change this year! Mason had a blast, Jake was just as silly as Mason and I was glad to be able to have some moments captured of my family that were of them just being them.
I will admit the one downfall was have a very pretty background of the lake and all it's glory and the two teenagers on the bench , "doing there thing" and Mason yelling, "what's that".
But all and all the experience was wonderful and we will probably do it until Mason says 'mom I'm too old for this'. But at the end of it this is our special family <3
